Let's draw (almost) everyday

I have to start prepare for the show in the Fall with Thinkspace Gallery. But at the same time, I want to work on my portfolios and rebuild my new site! But before that I have to take care few client works and etc. Sigh. Too much in my mind.

I started a new sketch book yesterday. Trying to draw everyday, I wonder how long that would last. ha!

started off great! NYLON magazine's freelance work came out RAD! Here is what the spread looks like! (picture above) I will be a part of group show at Canteen Gallery in Ottawa, Canada. The opening will be next month! Then my solo show at the National Grid Gallery in March! Hooray. I'm currently working on few illustration for books and it's very fun! Hopefully there will be more opportunity to illustrate!

I got invitation to be in the next Taschen's Illustartion Now 3 book as well! Which is super exciting! There will be another illustration book coming out some point this year through Mao Mao press called the Atlas of Illustration. I cannot wait to see it!

I will update the site soon with new work and news.
Hej hej.

Jason and I arrived New York safe on November 30th. We went across California, Nevada, Utah, Wyoming, Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania,  New Jersey and New York. It took us 5 days... since we had Basil Leaf with us and we wanted to make it to New York by December 1st. It was rocky and tiring, but we made it. Basil Leaf is pretty happy (since the East Coasts are COLD, but will be hell for him in Summer).  Phew.

We found our cozy apartment on my birthday and we were so relieved! It's gorgeous and amazing place we are living in! We created a studio/office next to our bedroom and I've been working in that room non stop since we settled in. Gets wonderful light and see the cute neighborhood, I'm in a wonderful place.

I've been working for the solo show for the National Grid Gallery in Sydney, Australia for March 2009. I am nervous because this will be pretty big deal! I've always wanted to go to Australia and very excited to visit there. Working on larger pieces, which I haven't done since I left college, but I think I like working large.  right now, I am handling three pieces same time and I still have to create more by March!

This move has been wonderful! My creativeness is coming back and I am drawing non stop. Excited to go out more and meet more artists/people/clients! I am loving my new life! It's something I've always wanted.  Yay!

I began working on two 12 x 12 inch drawings for Cerasoli : LeBasse Gallery in Los Angles. Working on square dimension is very tough. Have to be very good with placing the images on the right spot with even negative space around the object.... That's how I usually work but this time, it is going to be very different. No white negative spaces, it is going to be filled with colors and there  will be things crowding and touching the edge to the edge...

I see the images animating in my head over and over!
Progress will be posted soon.

This will be used for my work processes,  ideas, thoughts and what's new with mini miniature mouse.
I don't know how regularly I will post here, but there will be something !
Feel free to share words here. Thanks!
