Hi Everyone,

As you know, for the last two years, SHO Gallery has been exhibiting dynamic and innovative shows of established and emerging artists. We have put on over a dozen exhibitions showcasing works in all media, brought in collaborative guest curators, and focused our events on building community, networking relationships, and keeping the dialogue around new work flowing, all while having a damn good time.

As you may not know, the space we have been using for the majority of our shows is in a transition period. Accordingly, we're having a show to celebrate two incredibly successful years, and many more to come.

Join us this Thursday, Jan. 27th, as we celebrate the end of one era and the beginning of another, with some of the strongest work we've had yet.

I Want To Be Your Favorite Hello And Your Hardest Goodbye -- solo exhibition

I am having a solo exhibition in second week of November. Also having a group show in same week. :)
The solo show will be in Beacon, NY in the gallery/boutique called Blackbird Attic. I will be showing small drawings and pretty recent series in prints. If you are in Beacon that week, please come over! The opening is on November 13th, 6 - 9 pm. The show will run for about a month (till December).

The group exhibition will be at Show Gallery in Brooklyn. It will be only up for little bit but going to be a fun show. If you are in New York City area, please stop by! The more information about the show will be announced shortly.

12.19.2008

Jason and I arrived New York safe on November 30th. We went across California, Nevada, Utah, Wyoming, Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania,  New Jersey and New York. It took us 5 days... since we had Basil Leaf with us and we wanted to make it to New York by December 1st. It was rocky and tiring, but we made it. Basil Leaf is pretty happy (since the East Coasts are COLD, but will be hell for him in Summer).  Phew.

We found our cozy apartment on my birthday and we were so relieved! It's gorgeous and amazing place we are living in! We created a studio/office next to our bedroom and I've been working in that room non stop since we settled in. Gets wonderful light and see the cute neighborhood, I'm in a wonderful place.

I've been working for the solo show for the National Grid Gallery in Sydney, Australia for March 2009. I am nervous because this will be pretty big deal! I've always wanted to go to Australia and very excited to visit there. Working on larger pieces, which I haven't done since I left college, but I think I like working large.  right now, I am handling three pieces same time and I still have to create more by March!

This move has been wonderful! My creativeness is coming back and I am drawing non stop. Excited to go out more and meet more artists/people/clients! I am loving my new life! It's something I've always wanted.  Yay!

11.14.2008

I began working on two 12 x 12 inch drawings for Cerasoli : LeBasse Gallery in Los Angles. Working on square dimension is very tough. Have to be very good with placing the images on the right spot with even negative space around the object.... That's how I usually work but this time, it is going to be very different. No white negative spaces, it is going to be filled with colors and there  will be things crowding and touching the edge to the edge...

I see the images animating in my head over and over!
Progress will be posted soon.
